Have you ever wondered how the technical roles such as data engineer and cloud engineer have evolved because of the ever changing technology landscape? Big data, AI and cloud technologies are disrupting the way IT and business operate. Mingju Sun will walk you through the changes in these roles, the essential skills required to be successful, and how to get started or pivot to the new career path.

Mingju Sun is the enterprise data engineering Associate VP at AMFAM. She and her team are doing transformational engineering work to democratize data and technologies, two key enabling factors for data driven decision making. Ming started her career at AMFAM 13 years ago as a solution architect. She found her passion for data and analytics while working on the telematics program and later joined the data science division as the data analysis manager. She has grown her team from a traditional data analyst team to a sophisticated data engineering team with skills in distributed computing, cloud services, data modeling and programming. Now she is leading the Google Cloud adoption effort to build an enterprise data platform. This new platform is changing the way people are doing analytics. Prior to AMFAM, Ming worked in the banking and credit card industry as a Java Architect.

Ming holds a master degree in mechanical engineering from National University of Singapore. Her lobby list includes cooking, hiking, gardening and jogging.
