WITforGirls: Inspiring the Next Generation of Women in Tech

There's a growing demand for skilled professionals in technology, but there's also a shortage of qualified candidates to fill these roles.

WITforGirls is here to change that—by sparking interest in technology early and empowering girls to explore tech careers with confidence.

Through hands-on experiences, mentorship, and skill-building opportunities, we’re helping girls see themselves as future leaders in tech. By investing in their potential now, we’re not only opening doors to rewarding, high-growth careers—we’re also building a stronger, more inclusive workforce for tomorrow.

  • Our WITforGirls Program Offers

  • Savvy Cyber Kids Volunteer Program: WIT Wisconsin is a proud partner of Savvy Cyber Kids, a nonprofit organization helping parents and teachers educate children in cyber safety, cyber ethics and other aspects of their daily tech lives.
  • Girls-Who-Code Clubs: WIT Wisconsin has successfully helped start five Girls Who Code clubs with 42 members across Wisconsin. Girls are winning NC-WIT Aspiration Awards due to their middle school involvement in these clubs.
  • Train-the-Trainer Community Events: We work with local organizations and communities to train how to host a WIT4Girls event. Examples include Unplugged/Plugged Dance party (algorithm learning) and Ada Fruit workshop, amongst many other opportunities.
  • Microsoft Girls Workshops: Since 2018, we have empowered over 100 volunteers across 20+ companies to participate in Microsoft Microbit Girls Workshops engaging over 400 middle school girls across 6 communities.
