Event information: Chatbots have become extraordinarily popular in recent years largely due to dramatic advancements in machine learning and other underlying technologies such as natural language processing. Today’s chatbots are smarter, more responsive, and more useful – and we’re likely to see even more of them in the coming years. Kohl's Corp AIOps team Mark Yearling and Kathy Hannas will show their journey and some use cases for Chatbot in their organization.
About the Presenters:
Kathy Hannas is currently the Sr Manager, IT Business Operations, and has been merging her passions of technology and customer service with Kohl's for over 40 years. From an active technology end user in-store, to now leading multiple teams including the Service Desk and Knowledge groups within IT, she has enjoyed being an advocate, ensuring that the associates of Kohl's get the help they need when they have technology issues. With the ever-evolving world of technology support and retail, she is constantly looking for opportunities to make the customer experience smooth and efficient.
A native of SE Wisconsin, Kathy has a BBA in Marketing from UW Milwaukee and lives in Menomonee Falls with her husband of 35 years whom she met at Kohls. The empty nester is enjoying travel, photography, reading and playing with her first grandchild.
Mark Yearling has been at Kohl's for over 10 year and is currently the AIOps Engineering Manager. Most of his experience at Kohl's has been focused primarily around OMNI Channel, but the last 2 years he has had the pleasure to focus all of his time in the fun, exciting world of Automation.
He has always been intrigued by the idea of automation. He finds it gratifying, simplifying work, optimizing processes, and eliminating manual waste. Being in technology, he feels more empowered than ever that he can make his passion a reality. It is no surprise one of his proudest moments in his career is the evolution of our home-grown product called Jarvis. Being able to take an idea concept, build an awesome tool with my team, and ultimately witness success among so many people is so rewarding.
In his professional career he values hard work, dedication, and teamwork. These were core values my parents taught to me growing up. He was taught at a very young age; nothing comes easy and you have to work hard for the goals you set for yourself. Equally as important is working as / with a team. A team can accomplish so much more when they all work together and are equally invested in the same goal. Having a team share in the successes together keeps me motivated.
Aside from my work life he is married to his lovely wife of 11 years, Kara, and has 2 children Griffin (5) and Ruby (1). He loves to travel, exercise, hike, and do anything sports related. His favorite place he has been to is Maui, Hawaii. However, his favorite place to frequent still remains Las Vegas. He also enjoys the occasional video game and recently started to get back into woodworking.
