Mentor Details

Role Details

• Lead with Purpose: Forge a strong, meaningful connection with your student through a dedicated, 1:1 mentorship. 
• Be a Role Model: Embody the essence of mentorship by being both a supportive friend and an inspiring role model.
• Cultivate Engagement: Strengthen your bond through shared activities and recommend enriching experiences like webinars and resources. 
• Ignite Inspiration: Boost your student's confidence and drive, helping them to realize their full potential.
• Guide Goal Achievement: Assist your student in setting ambitious goals and provide the support they need to achieve them.
• Expand Horizons: Open new doors and new opportunities and connections, broadening your student's network and future prospects.

Time Commitment

• Balance Time Commitment: Make a time commitment that balances the goals of the program and your professional and personal priorities. Communicate that time commitment to your student.
• Engage Regularly: Spend a minimum of 2 hours/month with a student to maximize the benefit of the connection.
• Communicate Monthly: Communicate with the student at least once a month.
• Share Feedback: Share your feedback with periodic and program end surveys.

Participation Requirements

• Have the Experience: Work in IT or a technology related field - no minimum years of experience required.
• Demonstrate Consistent Interest: Demonstrate interest in working with student professionals.
• Model Dependability: Model dependable and consistent practices for meeting the time commitments.
