WISCONSIN - Women in Technology, WI, (WIT) has announced their Board of Directors for their 2019-2020 season. The non-profit organization, founded in 2014, focuses on collaborating with the community of Northeast Wisconsin to help encourage girls and retain women in technology careers. Their involvement reaches over 16 counties in Northeast Wisconsin, has impacted more than 11,000 students.
At the 2019 Annual Meeting, WIT President Adrienne Hartman announced to attendees the fourth season was focused on sustainable growth. She shared data from Wisconsin and around the country which showed there is a significant gap in the number of young women pursuing technology careers and technology leadership positions.
Hartman said, "We're working in collaboration with our generous sponsors and partners to change this -- to inspire girls to explore technology, to help college students see their potential, and to give professional technologists a safe and nurturing environment for continuing education and networking."
